Dr Tegan Brierley-Sollis – Senior Lecturer in Policing, Criminology and Trauma-Informed Approaches (verified owner) –
There’s very little available that explores this topic with the depth, thoughtfulness, and practical focus that this course offers. Caroline has taken what is a complex area and explained it in a way that is both accessible and immediately applicable.
What I particularly valued is that the course goes beyond autism. It teaches structured, fair interviewing processes that recognise individual differences in communication, lived experience, and processing style. Those principles make interviews fairer, more respectful, and more effective for everyone involved.
As someone interested in trauma-informed practice, I found the approach aligned closely with trauma-informed values. It promotes psychological safety, reduces unnecessary pressure, and encourages interviewers to adapt their approach without compromising the integrity of the process. I came away with practical tools that I can confidently apply in my own work, and I believe they increase the likelihood of both fair processes and fair outcomes for everyone.
I’m not aware of anything else that covers this subject with the same level of rigour while remaining so practical and usable.
